Overview
The Tallman Foundation supports healthy living and educational programs in Winnipeg's North End. We support schools, outreach programs and individual students based on request and individual needs.
The following are schools we supported since inception:
Anti-Bully Resource Center, After School Homework Club, After School Basketball, New Library Books & Upgrade computer for New Library. Continued support of new library books for the upcoming years.
Indoor Fitness Center... Phase One & Phase Two... K-6. Financially supported indoor fitness centre. Phase One, 2007. Phase Two, 2008. Continuing support in 2009.
Assisted with students attending a Track Meet in the USA. Assisted with sending two deaf students to camp. Assisted teachers running a Yoga Noon Class. In 2007-2008 The Tallman Foundation presented two "full" scholarships to the University of Manitoba. These students were gifted with intent to complete their first degree. They both have transportation provided to and from University.
Assisted a vice-prinicpal with a self-defense program for young women. Sponsored a golf program for 15 promising young golfers. The Tallman Foundation presented a full scholarship to one St. John's graduate who stood tall and believed she will excel and be the best she can be. This young lady wishes to pursue a degree in medicine.
Baseball program - 3 year co-educational program commitment.
Sponsor of 10 new students each year. Students in Grades 5 & 6 experience first hand, post-secondary careers by attending our three leading institutes every Saturday throughout the school year.
