Scholarship Programs

** NEW FOR 2011**

As of 2010 the Tallman Foundation has awarded 13 full scholarships.  These 13 students are graduates from either St. John's or Sisler High Schools.  In 2011, we have decided to broaden our scope.  We realize that Winnipeg's North End need is not solely a core area situation.  We are recognizing students from Seven Oaks and River East School Divisions. This year, the Tallman Foundation has awarded 17 NEW scholarships between the school divisions we have been working with.

We hope to continue to grow our scholarship programs "One student at a time".

This effort has been partnered with our family and business partners. As of 2011, they are:  Bob & Eva Keith, The Talbot Family, Freightliner Manitoba, The Hughesman Family, The Fitzpatrick Family, Ernst-Hansch Construction, Brent Treppel & Brenlee Carrington & family and Bill Carey & The Carey Corporation.  Together we mentor our students and arrange special outings with those who have made a difference in the city of Winnipeg and, in our eyes, "Stand Tall".  Last year, Gail Asper, (co-founder of CMHR along with her late father, Izzy Asper) conducted a perimeter tour of the Canadian Museum of Human Rights and had lunch with our 13 students.  We are currently planning a tour of the MTS Centre conducted by Mark Chipman, President and CEO .

Each student who has been awarded a scholarship is unique. They come together and share their life-school-exams etc.  In the few short years we have truly become a family.
