The Tallman Foundation Scholarship Wecomes Partners to our Program
Tuesday, June 30, 2009 marked a very significant day for Tanya Quintana, Gempyl Evangelista , Patricia Fabros all from St. John’s High School; same for Aakanksha Sharma from Sisler. These four community minded, hard working students all received a “full” scholarship towards their first post-secondary degree. A Tallman Foundation Scholarship covers the cost of tuition, books and a monthly bus pass.
This year The Tallman Foundation welcomed three families who have joined us through a partnership where the TTF Scholarship is donated in their family name:
The Tallman Foundation Scholarship sponsored by The Hughesman Family in honour of Ron Hughesman. Sons, Dale and Darren Hughesman have honoured their father, Ron; a graduate of St. John’s High and presented a full scholarship to Patricia Fabros entering the Faculty of Engineering, University of Manitoba. The Hughesman Family privately owns and operates on of Manitoba’s premier printing companies. Esdale Printing does all printed materials for the Tallman Foundation. Dale Hughesman, co-owner Selkirk Steelers, has supported the St. John’s and Sisler Hockey Teams, through donating game day tickets and providing a Skills Clinic on Steelers ice, Selkirk, Manitoba. We warmly welcome and thank the Hughesman Family for helping improve the life of one North End Student….”One Child at a Time”
The Tallman Foundation Scholarship sponsored by the Talbot Family was presented by brother and sister, Ken Talbot and Chris Semenchuk to Tanya Quintana entering the Faculty of Education, University of Winnipeg. Tanya was in shock when her name was called that she said she was overcome with emotion. The Talbot Family own and operate Freightliner Manitoba Ltd. Freightliner has participated and financially supported every Tallman Foundation event to date. Thanks to the entire Talbot Family: Father & Mother, Barry, Elane, brother & sister Ken and Chris, for believing in making a change “one child at a time”
