The Tallman Foundation is dedicated to supporting positive education and healthy living programs for youth in Winnipeg.
The Tallman Foundation has begun a 3-year sponsor of “ART BREAK” at GAP. This unique program sponsors junior and senior High School North End artists to experience first-hand exposure to international urban and graffiti artists. During, Spring Break, “ART BREAK” Graffiti Arts Programming invites a graphics-urban-graffiti Artist to host a two-day workshop at GAP.
Career Trek is a not for profit organization which allows inner-city students to experience firsthand, post-secondary career options. Students from grades 4, 5 and 6 are selected by their grades, maturity and commitment to attend each Saturday of the School year. They experience first-hand career options by attending four post-secondary faculties each Saturday at three of our leading post-secondary institutes: Red River College, University of Manitoba and University of Winnipeg.
Summer 2011 marks the second year of a three year sponsorship of summer reading at North End Schools, directed by teachers, teaching assistants and University of Winnipeg education students--even including some of our Tallman Foundation sponsored students. The summer reading program focuses on students retaining their reading skills and comprehension throughout the summer months, while taking part in positive educational programs and physical activity.

The Boys and Girls Club of North Winnipeg provide a wide array of safe play/sport activities for the youth of Winnipeg’s North End. The Tallman Foundation has sponsored a 3-year baseball program. The funding covered coaching, equipment, uniforms and transportation.
