In 1942, Harvey Tallman reluctantly traded his 3 ton truck for an auto wrecking shop on Princess Street. When the Second World War came to an end, there were a lot of army surplus good around. Harvey saw this as an opportunity to buy and sell these goods. A good buy on aircraft tires led to manufacturing wagons. The company grew and grew through purchasing goods in Japan and marketing these goods in Canada. All items were listed and sold in the famous "Princess Auto Catalogue". In 1976, Harvey Tallman retired, Harvey's sons Larry and Bob began a new era of expanding Princess Auto throughout Canada.
Bob is the Chief Executive Officer of Princess Auto Ltd.
Bob is the voice of wisdom and vision when discussing the mission of The Tallman Foundation. Bob believes we can make change "one child at a time."
Cathy is very passionate about helping others. Cathy helps with the organizing of our special events. Cathy is an alumni of Sisler High School in the North End of Winnipeg. Cathy enjoyed many rewarding years teaching as an elementary school teacher in the core area.
Matthew is completing his Grade 12. He plans to pursue a post-secondary education in business. Matt's interests include collecting First and Second World War memorabilia, target shooting, golf, film and hanging out with his friends.
Marc is in Grade 9 and is passionate about hockey, dirt-biking, golf and having fun! Marc is one of two goalies who took his team to an undefeated city championship.
Lorraine is the Executive Director of The Tallman Foundation. She has been an elementary school teacher and is passionate about working with North End organizations and schools. Lorraine is responsible for all fund-raising events, and believes in The Tallman Foundation philosophy; To STAND TALL® with the belief that each person has the potential to be the best that they can be.
